Pray With Purpose

Missionaries say a lot of prayers. It is a great thing that helps bring us closer to God and the Holy Ghost. As we all know however, when you do something many times, it starts to become routine and less meaningful. Elder Huntsman and I were talking about this the other day. Whenever someone prays, who doesn't say a lot of prayers on their own, it is so sincere. You can feel the connection with our Father in Heaven, and you can feel his love.

We asked the question, "How do you keep your prayers from losing their meaning?" There could be many different answers for different people, but I have found one that really works for me. If we go to the Lord with something that is important to us, our prayers become more sincere. We can report on our progress each time we pray, and the connection becomes much stronger. It isn't always easy to do this, but I know that it has helped me.
